Flint Assembly Celebrates 16 Million Vehicles With a Silverado HD Milestone

Flint Assembly has been producing vehicles since 1947, making it GM’s longest-running assembly site in North America. Over the years, the plant has been tied to some of the most recognizable vehicles in Chevrolet and GM history. 

Before it became known for today’s heavy-duty pickups, Flint Assembly helped build the first 300 Chevrolet Corvettes in 1953. It also produced important Chevrolet nameplates such as the Bel Air, Impala, and Monte Carlo.
